About PonyDogNZ
Back in 2015, my dad whipped up this awesome video showing off his mad skills in Microsoft Paint. He ended up drawing this quirky creature that didn’t really look like anything we knew, so we just went ahead and called it the PonyDog. Ever since that moment, that drawing has stuck in my mind, totally shaping my life and how I express myself artistically.
PonyDogNZ is a creative brand led by young Christchurch artist Deanna Morgan or Dee, specialising in bold artwork and creative services.
Every piece is designed with heart, colour, and originality, celebrating creativity, neurodiversity, and the joy of making art.
IHC Art Awards 2026
In 2026, Mama Chicken was awarded Second Place in the IHC Art Awards, a national recognition that means a lot to me. It showed me that my story, my creativity, and the love I have for my mama can reach and connect with people.

Mama Chicken is a soft‑sculpture artwork I created to honour my mum. I built her from thick, fluffy felt wool to show warmth, softness, and the feeling of being held the same way my mama has supported me all my life. Living with a mental disability has been challenging for me and for my whānau, but my mama never gave up on me. She has shown me strength, hope, and love even in hard times.
